Lake Erie Trends in Temperature, Secchi Depth, and Dissolved Oxygen Rates in the Central Basin of Lake Erie, 1983-2002

Lake Erie is the most rapidly changing and perhaps most intensely studied of the Great Lakes. Because almost 7 million people live on or near the shores, it has suffered the greatest amount of human-related perturbation. But it has also shown the greatest amount of change coincident with restoration efforts. Historical concerns about the environmental conditions of the lake have produced a long and detailed data set relating water quality conditions to human activity.
