Software Technologist II

EQuIS is the premier environmental and geotechnical data management system in the world. EQuIS is used by many government agencies, industrial property owners, over 300 consultants, and over 400 analytical labs around the world. Many USEPA regions, state regulatory agencies, and other government organizations use EQuIS. EQuIS interfaces with ArcGIS for advanced environmental decision support and data analysis. Many other software companies link with EQuIS.

As a Software Technologist II, you are a member of a support team within the EarthSoft Support Group with moderate experience. You understand your team’s assigned products and provide exceptional technical support to customers using those products. Your team’s success is measured in overall client satisfaction with, and inherent value of, those products. Your individual success is as a part of the team; individual team members are not successful if the team fails to meet its goals.

Responsibilities (what you do):

  • Train other team members in team products and processes.
  • Provide general product technical support to customers .
  • Directly assist customers and internal staff with the installation and use of EQuIS products .
  • Directly assist customers and internal staff with testing and problem-solving standard configurations.
  • Create thorough ticket summaries, user stories, and bugs.
  •  Conduct effective client meetings .
  • Actively participate in forum conversations.
  • Awareness of obligations as defined in the EarthSoft Software Maintenance Agreement .
  • Actively participate in team communication/knowledge sharing during team meetings.
  • Coordinate and collaborate amongst various EarthSoft departments and groups.

 

Requirements (what you need/have):

  • Intermediate problem solving skills
  • A basic working knowledge of other EarthSoft-selected business software, including Zoho Desk and Microsoft DevOps
  • Basic understanding of EarthSoft clients’ contracts and the Business Partner Program
  • Know EarthSoft’s internal workflow, industry, and clients
  • EQuIS product experience required
  • A basic working knowledge of tools required for advanced troubleshooting (e.g., SSMS)
  • Experience with Office 365 and customer support of software/web applications
  • A basic understanding of environmental data, data management, and databases is helpful
  • Academic or work experience in STEM fields (e.g., Chemistry, Environmental, or Geological Sciences (or similar), Computer Science, Engineering, or Geography) with 1-3 years of work experience in a related field
