Documentation Specialist

EQuIS is the premier environmental and geotechnical data management system in the world. EQuIS is used by many government agencies, industrial property owners, over 300 consultants, and over 400 analytical labs around the world. Many US EPA regions, state regulatory agencies, and other government organizations use EQuIS. EQuIS interfaces with ArcGIS for advanced environmental decision support and data analysis. Many other software companies link with EQuIS.

As a member of the EarthSoft Product Department Development Group, you will be involved with preparing documentation for the suite of EQuIS software products.

Responsibilities (what you do):

  • Assists with creating detailed documentation for describing the features and functionality of EQuIS products, including preparing instructions on how to use and trouble-shoot software issues.
  • Interacts with various members of the Product team to gain clear knowledge and understanding of items that require documentation.
  • Develops and exhibits extensive knowledge of features and functionality related to one or more EQuIS products.

Required Skills and Experience (what you need/have):

  • Possesses strong technical writing skills.
  • Proven ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Possesses strong verbal and written communication skills. Organizes thoughts and ideas and communicates information clearly for the reader/listener. Tailors communication to the recipient/audience.  Communicates using correct grammar and punctuation.
  • Possesses and exhibits strong working knowledge of one or more EQuIS products.
