EarthSoft Announces Multi-Year Contract from USEPA Region 9

April 10, 2023 – EarthSoft announces the award of a multi-year agreement with USEPA Region 9 in San Francisco, California for significant EQuIS services and licenses. EarthSoft’s EQuIS software is used by multiple USEPA Regions to manage water, air, and other associated sample data. A variety of state agencies, including California, also use EQuIS.

US EPA Region 9

EarthSoft’s award includes EQuIS software and services support until March 31, 2028, and strengthens workflows for electronic data deliverable (EDD) data submissions. EarthSoft provides training and other services assisting organizations with large-scale environmental data management operations. EQuIS will improve the environmental data management for several large California mega-projects.

EQuIS is used in particular for organizations with a large volume of lab data submissions, requiring data validation. EQuIS Data Qualification Module (DQM) flags data conditions in multiple advanced ways. EarthSoft is not aware of any other commercially-viable software like DQM. EarthSoft points to DQM as unique, advanced technology—the outcome of years of focused research and development around environmental data quality.

EQuIS “cradle-to-grave workflows” for environmental data support:

  • Sample planning
  • Field data collection
  • Large-scale data submission programs from multiple subcontractors
  • Database loading and EDD acceptance/rejections
  • Data querying
  • Large library of output, including data reports, environmental graphics, decision support tools, and data validation reports.

EQuIS is used for some of the largest environmental projects in California and we are proud to work for both the USEPA and the California EPA. Innovation around EDD workflows continues with many of our largest clients.
