EarthSoft and Keynetix Announce EQuIS for AutoCAD

February 3, 2011

January 31, 2011 – Keynetix Managing Director Roger Chandler and EarthSoft CEO Mitch Beard announced today the beta program for a new EQuIS module: EQuIS for AutoCAD. EQuIS for AutoCAD will generate advanced environmental and geotechnical graphics within AutoCAD, AutoCAD Map or AutoCAD Civil, from EQuIS Schema databases and EQuIS Professional. The public beta release of this software will be available approximately March 31, 2011 and trial software is available for a limited number of clients. Consultants wishing to beta test this release should contact EarthSoft or Keynetix.

The beta version of EQuIS for AutoCAD delivers contamination tables and location plans within AutoCAD linked to EQuIS Schemas. Subsequent versions will port the geotechnical graphical capabilities from Keynetix’s KeyHOLE including borehole strips, 3D representations, and subsurface graphics linked to EQuIS. EarthSoft and Keynetix plan to release these versions late in 2011.

“We look forward to extending all the power of KeyHOLE and AutoCAD to the large EQuIS client base” said Roger Chandler, Managing Director of Keynetix. “As an Autodesk System Centre and EarthSoft partner, we sought new ways to increase the productivity of AutoCAD and EQuIS. From the extensive feedback from EQuIS customers it appears even the beta version functionality of this product will save large amounts of time for EQuIS users desiring to use AutoCAD generating advanced technical graphics.”

Many of EarthSoft’s clients have been requesting EQuIS for AutoCAD to streamline their workflows. EarthSoft CEO Mitch Beard said, “We have been discussing this product a long time and are completely convinced there is a huge demand for a better AutoCAD module in EQuIS. We think EarthSoft can sell many licenses of this module. We want to thank our partner Keynetix for bringing this new module to our clients.”

AutoCAD, by Autodesk, Inc., is a CAD (Computer Aided Design or Computer Aided Drafting) software application for 2D and 3D design and drafting. First released in December 1982, AutoCAD was one of the first CAD programs to run on personal computers, notably the IBM PC. AutoCAD Map and AutoCAD Civil have been added to their product range in recent years and add powerful features to the standard AutoCAD product aimed specifically at land professionals. EarthSoft and Keynetix products target specifically contaminated land and other geotechnical and geoenvironmental applications.

EarthSoft’s award-winning EQuIS software is the most widely used environmental data management software in the world. Over 400 consultants use EQuIS.
